Yesterday Connie and Molly took me to the Bellwood Amusement Park. Well, actually, her parents took me.
It was fun, but the place is very strange.
100 years ago Bellwood was a mental asylum. Then it was abandoned for years. Everyone knows it’s haunted. But a couple of years ago, a wealthy family bought it and turned it into an amusement park.
They added a bunch of rides. Some are refurbished and most look like they are from the turn of the century. I loved it for that reason!
But, they took the asylum itself and made it the main attraction.. as a haunted house!
I haven’t been in there yet, but Molly was all about it.
People say it is still haunted by the ghosts of patients and doctors. I didn’t see anything… but I was too afraid to look. I wouldn’t even go on the asylum ride. I just couldn’t deal with ghosts, poltergeists or shadows. Too creepy for me!
They have a bunch of other great rides and the “old time” feel was great! We had a blast!
(Plus, the kettle corn was really good.)
