Update Schedule
Currently, we update twice a week, usually Tuesday and Friday evenings (EST). There is also a side story page posted weekly as a voting incentive on topwebcomics.com. Our current update schedule is posted in the announcements section underneath the comic page.
A little history…
So who does what and how did this whole thing get started?
I’m Thom Pratt and my wife is Kambrea Pratt. “Kneon Transitt” is just a pen name.
Kam writes the story and I draw it. We both sit down together and discuss general plotlines, but Kam does the actual scripting and the overall story is hers. After the scripting, we doodle up some thumbnails, and sometimes change dialog to better suit the art.
Most of my story input starts with “Wouldn’t it be funny if…”
So… yeah. Kam writes it.
Shadowbinders was originally drawn with traditional media and colored digitally. It is now 100% digital, completed on a tablet PC.
Now, Shadowbinders is actually TWO separate stories smooshed together. Kind of. You see, Kam had the basic idea for this story and the main characters a half a decade ago. And a half a decade before that, I had some concept art for a world I was creating called ‘Shadowbinder’ (singular.)
Long story short, Kam wanted to know if I’d object to her using some of those characters in her story. And the more we talked about it, the more we came to realize that the two stories really gelled together quite well.
Like Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Or kids.
Anyway, after running out of excuses she finally talked me into sitting down to draw ‘Shadowbinders.’ (plural now) And… ta-da! Here we are.
Before this, we worked together on coloring many of Gemstone’s Disney comic books (Uncle Scrooge, Mickey Mouse, etc.) and I’ve drawn a few indy comics here and there.
My background is in graphic design and Kam is a certified art teacher.
We both like Doctor Who.
